Privacy policy

Last updated 5 November 2026

USQ Connect is operated by United Square Pty Ltd (trading as USQ Accountants) (“we”, “us”), 44 Lakeview Drive, Caribbean Park, Scoresby VIC 3179, Australia. It lets you connect QuickBooks Online companies to AI assistants such as Claude through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

  • Account details: your email address and sign-in information (or the identity Google shares if you sign in with Google).
  • QuickBooks connection details for each company you connect: the company name, Intuit's company (realm) ID, the access mode you choose, and the OAuth access and refresh tokens Intuit issues. Tokens are encrypted at rest.
  • An activity log of changes made through the connector: when, which company, the action (for example “create Invoice”), the record ID and whether it succeeded.
  • Basic technical logs (such as IP address, browser and error reports) kept by our hosting providers to run and secure the service.

QuickBooks data

When your AI assistant calls a tool, we fetch or send the requested QuickBooks data on your behalf and pass the result straight back to that assistant. We do not keep copies of your accounting data (transactions, reports, customers, suppliers and so on) beyond the activity log described above. We only access a company after you approve it on Intuit's own sign-in page, and only through the scope you approved (com.intuit.quickbooks.accounting).

How we use information

  • To provide the connector: authenticate you, call QuickBooks for the companies you connected, and show you your activity.
  • To keep the service secure, troubleshoot problems and prevent misuse.
  • To contact you about your account or important changes to the service.

We do not sell your information, use your QuickBooks data for advertising, or use it to train AI models.

AI assistants

Data returned by the connector goes to the AI assistant you chose to connect (for example Anthropic's Claude). That provider handles it under its own terms and privacy policy. You control which assistant you connect and can remove it at any time from that assistant's settings.

Who we share with

  • Intuit, to make the QuickBooks API calls you request.
  • Our hosting and infrastructure providers (including Lovable and Supabase), which store and process data for us under contract.
  • Anyone we are required to disclose to by law.

Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States.

Retention and deletion

Disconnecting a company on the dashboard revokes its tokens with Intuit and deletes them from our database. To delete your account and activity log entirely, email us and we will do so within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep something longer.

Security

Connections use HTTPS. QuickBooks tokens are encrypted with AES-GCM, and database access is restricted so each user can only reach their own connections. You can set any company to read-only so no AI assistant can change it.

Your rights

You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or complain about how we handled it, by emailing mark.kim@unitedsq.com. If you are not satisfied with our response you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version; significant changes will be notified by email.
